Hvalstad, Norway 15 Feb 2024 – 3D perception AS (“3DP”) has successfully delivered multiple Atlas Northstar™ visual display systems (VDS) to Saab for the Royal Thai Air Force and Brazilian Air Force.The display systems are turn-key solutions based on 3DP’s modular Northstar™ technology platform. The advanced upgrade configuration is a result of close cooperation between Saab’s team of system architects and 3DP from concept to final design and implementation to meet the demanding standards for training pilots as well as serving as a testbed for future editions of the Gripen E system.
The Atlas fixed-wing dome display is a high-quality, turn-key visual display solution built on 3DP’s advanced and modular Northstar™ technology platform. The system ensures a high immersion experience for the Gripen pilots, reducing the live training time and cost significantly and keeping a consistent lifelike environment over time. Saab’s Visual Specialist, Anders Wallerman, said, “Working with 3D perception has been outstanding. The display system is well designed, and it is probably the best-looking display system we have seen.”
