3D perception Selected by ASI for US Navy’s NSST Program

Innovative “Cetus” Visual Display Systems to Enhance Naval Training

Orlando, FL USA 5 Dec 2024 – 3D perception, Inc. (3DP), an expert in advanced visual display solutions, is proud to announce its selection by Aero Simulation, Inc. (ASI) as a visual display system partner for the United States Navy’s Navigation, Seamanship, and Shiphandling Trainer (NSST) program. This collaboration is part of a significant indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract awarded to the BGI/ASI Joint Venture, aimed at modernizing the Navy’s existing training infrastructure across nine fleet training centers globally.

Under this partnership, 3DP will contribute its renowned Cetus™ line of maritime visual display systems to enhance the training capabilities of the NSST program. The Cetus systems provide high-resolution, wide field of view displays optimized for the unique challenges faced by naval vessels, including destroyers, aircraft carriers, and fast attack craft.

Adam McCard, EVP Sales & Strategy, at 3D perception, commented: “We are thrilled to be selected by ASI to contribute to the NSST program. Our Cetus systems are engineered to deliver unparalleled visual fidelity and reliability, ensuring that naval trainees receive the highest quality training experience. Following up on the 18 NSST Cetus displays 3DP has delivered under a previous contract, this partnership underscores our commitment to supporting the US Navy with cutting-edge technology.”

3D perception’s Cetus systems are spherical displays (up to 7.5 m / 21 ft radius) large field of view seamless front-projected displays, which offer immersive and realistic training environments. Equipped with 3DP’s modular Northstar™ solution, these systems provide high resolution, industry-leading quality, precision, and ease of maintenance. They also feature advanced display management, including camera-free automatic image warp, blend, and night-scenario optimization, ensuring a consistent and high-quality visual experience.

The NSST program aims to modernize and enhance the Navy’s training infrastructure, providing sailors with realistic and immersive training environments. With 3DP’s Cetus systems, the program will benefit from the latest advancements in visual display technology, supporting the Navy’s mission to prepare its personnel for real-world operations.

3D perception is present at I/ITSEC, the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training conference from Dec 2nd – 5th in Orlando at booth #895.
