3D perception Upgrades Immersive Display System at US Naval Air Warfare Center

ORLANDO, FL, December 1, 2014 – 3D perception, Inc. (“3DP”), today announced the delivery of a Northstar™ immersive visual display to the US Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) under an SBIR Phase III contract to AVT Simulation.

The newly delivered system is an upgrade to an older generation 3DP display system, and includes nBox™, 3DP’s latest generation display processor, StarScan™ high-resolution autocalibration scanner, and four CompactView™ WQ65L high-resolution LED WQXGA projectors. The display is unique in that it includes a central “area-of-interest” which features a much higher pixel-density than the lateral peripheral areas. This area is considered near eye-limiting resolution – in that the human eye cannot distinguish pixilation.NAWCTSD Visual System Engineer, David Wieselthier said, “Our older 3DP system was a solid performer – so when it came time to upgrade our demo lab to the latest technology, we were glad to have 3DP come back.
