Hvalstad, Norway 14 Apr 2026 – 3D perception (3DP), a global expert in visual display systems for simulation and training, has successfully delivered its Northstar™ Aurora Visual Display System to Saab for the SYSIM-T simulator program. The system now supports Saab’s work in aircraft development and flight control system testing.
To ensure the system would meet all the unique operational requirements of Saab’s facility, 3DP collaborated closely with Saab to adapt the Aurora system to the building’s specific conditions while still achieving full functionality.
Built on the powerful Northstar™ platform, 3DP’s Aurora Visual Display System provides a seamless 180° × 50° immersive view with smooth 120 Hz performance. Featuring proprietary sensor at the surface technology, the system enables rapid, automatic multi-projection alignment and calibration — without relying on cameras.
The Aurora system maintains stable, high quality imagery across dawn, day, dusk, and night conditions. Engineered for sustained performance and easy upkeep over time, it offers high-fidelity visualization, automated calibration, and minimal maintenance requirements, allowing Saab engineers to dedicate more time to enhancing aircraft performance and safety.
