Company to Deliver “Lyra” Systems for Rotary-Wing Training Devices
Hvalstad, Norway 28 Oct 2026 – 3D perception (3DP), a leading provider of advanced visual display systems for simulation and training, today announced it has been awarded a long-term frame agreement by Reiser Simulation and Training GmbH (REISER) to supply visual display systems for upcoming rotary-wing training devices.
Under the agreement, 3DP will supply its Lyra™ helicopter simulator dome display systems, alongside program management, installation, integration, documentation, and long-term support services. The framework enables end users to select visual system configurations tailored to specific light and medium-twin helicopter platforms, including the Airbus H125, H135, and H145, as well as the Leonardo AW139 and Airbus H175.
Engineered specifically for the demands of rotary-wing training, the Lyra™ visual system utilizes 3DP’s modular Northstar™ technology platform and Aurora™ instrumented screens for camera-free automated alignment and simplified maintenance. The system configurations provide dedicated visual coverage – including critical chin window visibility – delivering essential visual cues for hovering, low-level flight, and confined-area landings.
Engineered for Regulatory Compliance and Multi-Mission Training
To support international simulator qualification, 3DP’s visual system configurations under this program are designed to comply with EASA CS-FSTD(H) standards for FTD Level 3 and FNPT Level II devices, as well as FAA Level 7 requirements under 14 CFR Part 60.
Depending on airframe and mission requirements, the display configurations incorporate:
- Light Helicopters (H125 / H135 / H145): A compact 3-channel dome display configuration featuring high-resolution baseline projection, with an optional Night Vision Goggle (NVG) capacity.
- Medium Helicopters (AW139 / H175): A wide-angle 5- or 6-channel dome display configuration while delivering an easy-to-maintain visual system with low lifecycle costs, with an optional NVG capacity.
“This agreement reflects a shared commitment to providing reliable, high-fidelity training solutions for helicopter operators and training organizations,” said Knut Krogstad, CEO of 3D perception. “REISER has a strong reputation for delivering advanced helicopter simulation systems, and we are proud that 3D perception has been selected as a visual systems partner. Together, we aim to provide customers with realistic training environments that are straightforward to operate, easy to maintain, and capable of meeting demanding qualification requirements.”
“To deliver premier training systems to our customers, we rely on robust, high-performance technology that ensures operational readiness and long-term reliability,” said Michael Holz, COO at Reiser Simulation and Training. “3D perception’s Lyra display systems and automated alignment capabilities complement our flight training devices, enabling us to provide operators with precise visual fidelity and compliance across a versatile range of helicopter platforms.”
