About nBox™

nBox™ by 3D perception is an all-in-one real-time display processor that warps, blends, and color corrects raw IG content. It outputs to multiple projectors, seamlessly displaying imagery across any shaped screen with consistent color, gamma, and contrast.

As part of the Northstar™ simulation display technologies, nBox integrates with auto-alignment systems like WarpSync™ and StarScan™, as well as third-party alignment technologies. It supports the uploading of warp and blend maps and allows for fully manual configurations. Uniquely, nBox enables manual overlays to be reapplied on subsequent automatic alignments. Additionally, it can be paired with 3D perception’s Eclipse™ Dynamic Optical Blenders to optimize images for all times of day.

For enhanced viewing experiences, nBox can integrate with head/eye trackers to provide a dynamic eyepoint, reducing parallax and improving depth perception and fidelity—especially beneficial in smaller domes. This integration also allows nBox to dynamically blank out unseen areas of a full dome screen, reducing reflection and optimizing contrast.

Treating the multi-projector theater as a single contiguous display, nBox eliminates the need for processing or integration dependencies on the user’s IG. This design allows for a straightforward projector upgrade path while maintaining the existing display infrastructure.
